Race Information
Join us for our 6th Annual race through the Canaan Valley, in beautiful West Virginia on Saturday and Sunday, April 27- Sunday Aprils 28, 2023. Full weekend race details will be released very soon. This is a destination race like no other, with unspoiled scenery all around and miles of tranquil mountains, hiking trails, rivers, and streams. The Canaan Valley is truly the perfect runcation for the outdoor enthusiast. So make plans to attend, and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!
Canaan Valley 5k
We are offering the Canaan Valley 5K on both Saturday and Sunday 4/27 and 4/28.
All participants will receive a Finisher Medal and an awesome Stainless Steel Tumbler.
Canaan Valley Half Marathon & 10k
We will be offering both the 10K and the Half Marathon on both Saturday and Sunday 4/27 & 4/28.
All participants will receive a Finisher Medal, and an awesome Stainless Steel Tumbler.
Conquer the Valley Challenge
This year we will be offering two different versions on the Conquer the Valley Challenge. A competitive division in which you must complete the 5K on Saturday, and the Half Marathon on Sunday. We will also be offing a Fun category where you can run any race either day. Two Days of running and you pick your distance.
The 5K for the Conquer the Valley Challenge will be on Saturday 4/27, and the Half Marathon will be on Sunday, 4/28.
Overall Male and Female will receive 2 Nights Lodging and 2 Free Entries to our 6th Annual Race.
Runners must complete the 5K on Saturday and the Half Marathon on Sunday to be eligible for the Prizes.
The way the Conquer the Valley Challenge is scored is 3X your 5K Time, plus your Half Marathon Time. Courses will be USTAF certified barring any last-minute changes that are out of our control.
All Participants will receive a Saturday and Sunday finisher medal, Conquer the Valley Finisher Medal, and an AWESOME Stainless Steel Tumber, and a McClumsy Trucker Hat ( available in 3 different sizes)!
2023 Season Pass
2024 Season Pass - New for 2023!!! We are going to embrace our ski town culture and offer a Season Pass for the first time in 2023! Unlimited Racing - The season pass gets you one registration to all of the Canaan Valley Running Company’s Races the Canaan Valley Half Marathon (Conquer The Valley Challenge Included), Canaan Valley Trail Run, and the Moonlight on the Falls Marathon. Swag - Includes standard giveaway swag for each event, plus Earlybird bonus swag. Only Valid for 2024 Races. Not valid for the remainder of the 2023 race season. *** Participants can defer the entire Season Pass prior to Mar 15, 2022. Unfortunately, no single race deferrals are permitted with the Season Pass.

You Deserve a Runcation
Awards
We will have prizes for the top 3 finishers for male/female in the Conquer the Valley Challenge (Both Days Combined), Half Marathon, 10k and 5k for Both Saturday and Sunday. We will have a short awards ceremony for Overall Winners on both Saturday and Sunday. We will also be doing age groups awards on both Saturday and Sunday as well.
Swag & Bling
All participants will receive a distance and event specific finisher medal, 1 tasty post race brew (must be 21 or older and have ID present), post-race snacks, and awesome music.
Half Marathon Participants will receive one of our awesome lightweight Hoodies.
10k and 5k Participants will receive T-Shirts, and Conquer the Valley Challenge and the Runcation Experience will receive Zip Hoodies!
Packet Pick Up
We will be offering Packet Pick Up on Friday 4/26, Saturday 4/27, and Sunday 4/28..
We encourage all runners to pickup their packets the day prior to their race if possible. If not no big deal we will be offering day of packet pick up as well. Packet Pick Up Times and Locations TBD.
H20 & Electrolytes
The course will have water stops with water and electrolytes.
Post Race Party
What can we say... We like to party and you should too after running the Canaan Valley Half Marathon & 10k! We will have post race celebrations with a DJ starting 8:00 am in addition to providing a festive post race environment. We are currently working on a plan for 2024 to make sure our Post Race Party is our best yet.
Medical
A medical team will be onsite for any hiccups that happen on both Saturday and Sunday. 13.1 miles is a long way, so train well and listen to your body on race day, please!
Race & Parking Location
The Start, Finish, and Parking will all be located at the Canaan Valley Resort. We highly encourage all runners to stay at the Canaan Valley Resort which is within walking distance to both the start and finish line.
